Soriya Estes, AuD

Soriya Estes Audiologist

Soriya Estes, AuD has extensive experience in the field of audiology and owns several private practice offices in Central Texas. She received her Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Texas at Austin and her Doctorate of Audiology from Salus University. Dr. Estes has lectured as a guest faculty member for the UT-Austin Moody College of Communication Speech and Hearing Department and also has served on several committees for the American Academy of Audiology. She has spoken at regional and national forums relaying Best Practices for Audiologists in hearing healthcare clinics.

In 2005, Dr. Estes started her first practice in New Braunfels, Texas with the philosophy of providing superior hearing healthcare services for all patients. The philosophy of service to others resonates throughout her character.

Dr. Estes is highly motivated to serve her local communities in Central Texas. Estes Audiology has served as the hearing service affiliate provider for the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) since 2009. She also has been called to participate in healthcare efforts in Haiti to support, staff and fund hearing and health centered mission trips annually.

Outside of Audiology, Soriya also serves on the Board of Trustees for 89.5 KMFA – classical public radio and the St. Austin’s Catholic School Board. She is also a Blue Coat for the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce and was awarded the Small Business Person of the Year in 2015 from the New Braunfels Chamber. She has lived in Austin for over twenty years and actively attends her children’s school and extracurricular activities as their Uber driver extraordinaire.

Kelli House, M.A.

Kelli House Audiologist Estes

Kelli House, M.A. has extensive experience in the field of Audiology and joined as a partner of Estes Audiology in 2014. Ms. House has experience in both pediatric and adult diagnostic testing, hearing loss counseling, and hearing aid fittings.  Prior to joining Estes Audiology in May of 2008, she served as Director of Audiology and Lead Audiologist at Easter Seals of Central Texas, a non-profit facility.  Through this work, she gained knowledge of grant writing, coordination of ancillary rehabilitation support and providing hearing services to low-income and elderly patients.  Ms. House also has extensive experience in adult aural rehabilitation and hearing aid services for our military veterans.  She previously worked in the Audiology Departments at Brooke Army Medical Center and the Temple Veterans Administration, working directly with active duty soldiers and retired veterans.

Kelli is very involved in local and regional professional organizations, including the Austin Audiology Society, Scott Haug Foundation, and a current Board Member of Texas Academy of Audiology.  She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Audiology and serves as an off-campus clinical supervisor for the University of Texas at Austin Audiology doctoral program as well as a guest lecturer for the program.

Kelli enjoys scuba diving, travel and spending time with her very active family.

Liz Beschoner, AuD

Liz Beschoner, AuD  has practiced in the field of Audiology for several years. She joined Estes Audiology in 2014 as Doctor of Audiology at Estes Audiology in Boerne & New Braunfels, Texas. She has served many patients with a variety of needs in private practices around the San Antonio and Boerne areas. Dr. Beschoner is committed to helping those with hearing loss by bringing them excellent care through rehabilitation to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Beschoner enjoys spending time with her family. She resides in Boerne, Texas with her husband and her two children.

Paige Juarez, AuD

Paige Juarez, AuD has practiced in the field of Audiology since 2014 when she joined Estes Audiology in our New Braunfels clinic. Dr. Juarez has lived in Dripping Springs since 2016 and is now thrilled to be able to provide care in the community she calls home at our new Dripping Springs location. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the Texas Academy of Audiology and the Hearing Loss Association of America and enjoys attending national and state audiology conferences. Dr. Juarez has a true passion for evaluating all patient needs and improving their quality of life through her expertise in hearing loss. She is known to go above and beyond to meet her patient’s goals.

Dr. Juarez enjoys spending time with her husband, Joel, and their 3 young children. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors with her family and two golden retrievers, shopping at the Dripping Springs Farmers Market, and attending UT Longhorn football games.

Rachel Higginbotham, AuD

Rachel Higginbotham, AuD is a Boerne native who joined Estes Audiology in 2016. Dr. Higginbotham loves ears and is passionate about better hearing. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus. Her goal is to improve enjoyment of life by working with patients and loved ones to find hearing solutions. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Higginbotham takes joy in spending time with her family and church community group, reading a good book, and playing board games with friends. She lives in Boerne with her husband and three sons.

Gay Wucher, M.A.

Gay Wucher, M.A. Estes Audiology

Gay Wucher, M.A. has over 30 years’ experience in the field of audiology and is a native Austinite. She received her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She has supervised many audiology students over the years as adjunct faculty with The University of Texas at Austin and Lamar University.

Designing hearing solutions for discriminating listeners is a challenge that she appreciates. Whether it’s in-the-ear monitors for musicians, custom ear protection for loud venues, or hearing amplification for people who might need a little boost in understanding conversations, Gay cares deeply about each patient and their specific hearing needs.

She is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

She loves hearing stories about old Austin, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and cheering for the University of Texas Longhorns. In her spare time, she enjoys playing cards, dominos, or any other game that might come her way. She lives in Austin with her wife, Natalie, and their two dogs Cotton and Waffles.

Kathy Sonnamaker, AuD, CCC-A

Kathy Sonnamaker, AU.D., CCC-A estes audiology

Kathy Sonnamaker, AuD a long time resident of Marble Falls, completed her Master’s degree in 2001 and received her Doctorate in Audiology from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2005. Dr. Sonnamaker has worked in many clinical settings and found she particularly enjoys working with adult patients in private practice. She has been an excellent audiological provider for over 20 years and a winner of the Reader’s Choice award for best audiologist. The most fulfilling part of her job is building personal relationships with her patients. “I love working for Estes Audiology. Our goal is to improve people’s lives through providing them the best evaluation, diagnosis and recommendations for their hearing issues.” Dr. Sonnamaker has a passion for problem solving.

In her free time, Kathy enjoys napping, fishing, watching football and spending time with her friends, family and pets. She resides in Marble Falls with her wife, tame and feral cats and three Clumber Spaniels.

Jake Keup, AuD

Jacob “Jake” Keup, AuD is an audiologist from Austin, working in the New Braunfels Estes Audiology location. Jake joined the practice in June 2017 and has a wide range of experiences throughout his previous clinical rotations in adults and pediatrics in a number of practice and hospital settings. Jake is from Austin, Texas and completed his Bachelor’s degree and Doctorate of Audiology at the University of Texas at Austin.

His favorite aspect of audiology is the ability to work with new patients each day and have the opportunity to make a difference in their world. Every day is a unique challenge, and a place to learn something new. He loves that he can touch a different patient’s life through better hearing through treatment and counseling.

Jake is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, the Texas Academy of Audiology, and the Future Leaders of Audiology.

He is a die-hard Longhorn and lives by the slogan “What starts here, changes the world.” His goal is to make a change in the world through audiology, making a difference in people’s lives.

Sonia Cuero, AuD

Sonia Cuero, AuD is a board-certified audiologist with over twenty years in the field of Audiology. Prior to joining Estes Audiology, Dr. Cuero was the owner of Audiology of Central Texas from 2006 to 2019. She was one of the first audiologists in central Texas to obtain her AuD in 2002 and board certification through the American Board of Audiology in 2003. She is a life member of the Texas Academy of Audiology and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Cuero loves audiology and specializes in adult amplification, aural rehabilitation, and hearing conservation. She prides herself in providing exceptional hearing health care and building lasting relationships with her patients. Dr. Cuero furthers her relationships with patients through her bilingualism; accommodating native Spanish speakers and delivering necessary information regarding their hearing health. Her expertise in hearing conservation prompted her to conduct audiology tests throughout Texas, American Samoa, and Guam as a subcontractor for the U.S. Army Reserve. Furthermore, Dr. Cuero has performed compensation and pension evaluations for Veterans since 2006.

Dr. Cuero and her husband Fabian enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren, volunteering for their local community, traveling, and experiencing new cultures. Their home is full of fur babies, including two chihuahuas (Sassy and Prissy) and a cat (Dot).

Roger Johns, AuD., CCC-A

Roger Johns, Au.D., CCC-A, has been helping people reconnect with their friends and family since he began practicing Audiology in Houston in 1998. As a southeast Texas native, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders (1996) and Master’s degree in Audiology (1998) from Lamar University in Beaumont. He later completed his Doctorate in Audiology (2012) from A.T. Still University in conjunction with the Arizona School of Health Sciences and has specialized in the diagnosis of hearing loss and treatment with amplification for over two decades. His passion and commitment to preserving people’s ability to communicate has been the driving force behind his mission of service to the community throughout his career. He is currently a member of the Texas Academy of Audiology and the American Speech Language Hearing Association.

Dr. Johns loves living in San Antonio and firmly believes the San Antonio-Central Texas-Hill Country region is one of the best places to reside anywhere! When he is not in the office, you will likely find him outside playing with one of his dogs in his backyard garden or spending time with his family members in town.

Mendy Engler, AuD

Mendy Engler, AuD, has extensive experience in the field of Audiology working with both adults and children but primarily specializing in pediatric care before joining Estes Audiology in March of 2020. She primarily worked in hospital settings providing an array of diagnostic, hearing aid, bone conduction and cochlear implant services for inpatient, outpatient, multidisciplinary and otolaryngology clinics. She grew up in Dallas, TX, but has lived and worked in San Antonio, Austin, Boston and in the United Kingdom. She also has experience working in school settings having worked for Sunshine Cottage School for the Deaf in San Antonio, TX. Her passion is facilitating access to communication for patients and their families to open the door to the best quality of life possible for each person.

In her spare time, she spends time with her son and traveling any chance she gets.

Sara Burge, AuD

Sara Burge, AuD is a board-certified clinical audiologist working at our Seguin location. Dr. Burge specializes in advanced hearing diagnostics as well as adult hearing aid amplification and follow up care. Dr. Burge excels in providing compassionate patient-centered care and is passionate about bringing Audiology out of the clinic and into the community.

Dr. Burge grew up all along the west coast (from southern California to Alaska) and completed her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Portland State University in 2015. She then completed her Doctor of Audiology from the University of Washington in 2020. Dr. Burge is currently a member of the Texas Academy of Audiology. Her greatest passion is reconnecting those with hearing loss to their loved ones and the sounds of life.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Burge loves to spend time with her husband, cat and dog exploring Central Texas.

Tina Hart, M.A.

Tina Hart, M.A. has practiced in the field of Audiology for over 15 years. She received her Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Texas Academy of Audiology. She has experience in both adult and pediatric settings. She joined the Austin office of Estes Audiology in 2019.

Bringing sound to people has been a life-long passion for Tina. As a former professional classical musician, Tina performed with numerous orchestras including the Mexico City Orchestra and the Orchestra of Santa Fe. Tina enjoys getting to know her patients so she can discover their unique needs and help them hear life again.

Tina is a huge fan of books, music and traveling with her family. She would like to think of herself as a gardener, but evidence may suggest otherwise.

Cristen Culp, AuD, Clinical Operations Manager

Cristen Culp, AuD has been providing hearing healthcare for over 25 years in the Dallas, Houston and Austin areas working with hard-of-hearing and Deaf patients. In more recent years, she has been overseeing providers as an Audiology staff director. Dr. Culp is a member of the Austin Audiological Society and a Fellow of American Academy of Audiology. She served as the President of the Texas Academy of Audiology in 2014, is a Life Member of the organization and is currently serving as TAA’s Conference Social Media Chair.

Dr. Culp is serving her 2nd term on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Speech/Language Pathology & Audiology Advisory Board, to aid TDLR with monitoring and updating Speech & Audiology state rules and regulations. She has guest-lectured on hearing aids and state hearing resources at Baylor University, and at community events with groups such as Sertoma Club Austin and Sun City Georgetown.

Cristen is very active in her home community of Round Rock, TX and serves on the board of the Round Rock High School Volleyball Booster Club. She enjoys trail walking, bike riding and Camp Gladiator as well as watching sand and indoor volleyball. She has two daughters and enjoys traveling to ski or enjoy the beach with her husband John and their combined 5 children and attending Longhorn football and volleyball games to cheer on her alma mater.

Arianna Garcia, B.S.

Arianna Garcia, B.S. Estes Audiology

Arianna Garcia, B.S. joined Estes Audiology in December 2015 and works as a Licensed Audiology Assistant in the Austin office. She graduated in 2014 from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and plans to pursue a Doctoral degree in Audiology. Arianna loves going to concerts and watching movies with her boyfriend and sisters, so any suggestions are always welcome.

Alexus Cordova, B.S.

Alexus joined Estes Audiology in September of 2018 and works as an Audiology Assistant in the New Braunfels and Seguin offices. Alexus graduated from Texas Lutheran University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She is a New Braunfels native and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and two dogs Beau and Bailey.

Caitlin Merrill, B.S.

Caitlin Merrill, B.S. joined Estes Audiology in June 2019 and works as a Licensed Audiology Assistant in the Austin and Marble Falls clinics. Caitlin graduated from the University of Vermont in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and plans to pursue a Doctoral degree in Audiology. Caitlin is originally from Burlington, Vermont, however; has relocated to Georgetown, Texas to be closer to her husband, Dylan, who is currently serving in the military at Fort Hood. Outside of work, Caitlin loves to explore and travel to new places with Dylan and their black Labrador, Addie.

Grace Rahtjen, B.S.

Grace Rahtjen, B.S. is an Audiologist Assistant for the Boerne office. She grew up in Kansas where she received her Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University. Grace has many years of customer service experience and is passionate about audiology and helping those hear life again. Grace recently moved to San Antonio and began working for Estes Audiology. Grace and her husband, Taylor, have two miniature Doberman Pinschers, Sophie and Jack. When she is not at work, she loves spending time with her family, outdoors, at the lake, or volunteering for her favorite nonprofit organization, CASA.

Tricia Hastings, Patient Care Coordinator

Tricia Hastings joined Estes Audiology in January 2017 as Patient Care Coordinator for Marble Falls by virtue of Estes Audiology’s acquisition of Lakeview Hearing Center. She is originally from Iowa and moved to the Austin area with her family in 1991. In 2014, Tricia and her husband moved to Marble Falls and enjoy the small town atmosphere. Tricia is a musician who is the worship director for her church and leads a ladies gospel group. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, making cards and watching old movies.

Brianne Gonzalez, Patient Care Coordinator

Brianne Gonzalez joined Estes Audiology in November 2015 as Patient Care Coordinator for New Braunfels. She is originally from Fort Worth and moved to the San Marcos area with her family around 2011. Brianne enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking and being outdoors. Brianne has a wonderful family which includes her husband Marcos, teenage daughter Cassie and her three fur babies Toby, Bella and Apple.

Anabel Mendoza, Patient Care Coordinator

Anabel Mendoza joined Estes Audiology in August 2018 as the Patient Care Coordinator for Austin. She has over ten years of experience as a Medical Administrator Assistant in an Ear, Nose & Throat clinical setting. In addition, Anabel is a Certified Spanish Medical Interpreter from UT Austin, Center for Professional Education.

Anabel lives in Elgin with her husband, son and two daughters. She is an avid Soccer Mom for her son and loves it! Her hobbies also include jogging, playing volleyball and spending quality time with her family.

Misty Kleinschmidt, Patient Care Coordinator

Misty Kleinschmidt joined Estes Audiology in July 2019 as the Patient Care Coordinator for Seguin. Prior to joining Estes Audiology, she worked with Dr. Jennifer Hennessee at Guadalupe Ear Nose & Throat for three years, two of those years she assisted the audiologist on staff with Estes Audiology part-time. Misty loves helping people get the best service when it comes to their hearing healthcare needs.

She is a native of Seguin Texas and has lived there her whole life. She enjoys spending time with her family at their farm riding four wheelers, going on shooting outings, checking hog traps, anything outdoors. She is an animal lover and has a 5-year-old Catahoula/pit mix baby girl named Maggie.

Anne Willkom, Patient Care Coordinator

Anne Willkom joined Estes Audiology, October 2019, as our PCC in our north Austin location. She comes to us with 27 years of experience in the medical field. Anne adds some excitement to our team. She is funny and enjoys life. Anne loves spending time with her family, friends, and dog, Poko. She is proud of her daughter who is currently enrolled at UNT in Denton.

Marisa Betancourt, Patient Care Coordinator

Marisa Betancourt joined Estes Audiology as the Patient Care Coordinator for San Antonio. Marisa is a native Texan although she spent most of her young life traveling with her parents seeing the world while her dad served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. After his 24-year career, they settled back in San Antonio where Marisa finished school. She has been married for almost 18 years now and has 2 wonderful boys, a 23-year-old step son and a 15 year old but, her pride and joy is her 2 year old grandson. Marisa has been in the audiology business for over 15 years now and enjoys working with her patients on a daily basis. During her time off, she enjoys going on long motorcycle rides with her hubby and spending time with the kids.

Tuesday Darling, Patient Care Coordinator

Tuesday Darling joined Estes Audiology in January 2020 as Patient Care Coordinator for Dripping Springs. She has over ten years of experience as a Billing and Office Manager in a Pediatric practice setting. Tuesday lives in the Dripping Springs area with her 2 boys. When she is not at work, she spends her time with her family, volunteering with her church, and hiking through the Texas Hill Country.

Abby McAlpin, Patient Care Coordinator

Abby McAlpin is our Patient Care Coordinator for the Boerne office. She received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Abby was born and raised in San Antonio, TX by her two loving parents and has a younger sister. Abby is deaf, wears hearing aids in both ears, and reads lips. She is passionate about helping others and has a heart for the deaf community. In her free time, she likes to run, cook, spend time with friends and family, and meet new people.

Rayleen Nelson, Executive Assistant

Rayleen Nelson joined Estes Audiology in January 2017 as an Executive Assistant for all Estes Audiology locations. She has over 25 years’ experience as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant. Her heart is in the service industry and she places high value on patient’s concerns and quality of life.

She moved to Marble Falls in 2012 to be closer to her family she loves. She is married to the kindest hearted man and together they have four beautiful children. She is a lover of nature and animals.

Laurie Coggins, Practice Manager

Laurie Coggins Estes Audiology

Laurie Coggins joined Estes Audiology in July 2011 and is currently the Practice Manager for all Estes Audiology locations. With over 20 years of experience in office administration and customer service support, she is a confident and competent EA team member.

Ms. Coggins is a bright personality and can often be found hard at work in the office as the direct supervisor to all Patient Care Coordinators. She is a true people-person and believes that excellent customer care is truly the core to a successful business.

She is from Seguin and currently lives in New Braunfels with her dapple dachshund, Diva, and enjoys being close to family in the area. When she is not working, Ms. Coggins likes to travel, bake and spend time with her family and friends. She has love for making hanging baskets, working in her flower beds, and recently took up diamond painting as a hobby. She also enjoys watching her son, Chance, grow his business and ride motocross.

Noemi Franco, Billing Manager

Noemi Franco joined Estes Audiology in July of 2019 as Billing Manager for all Estes Audiology locations. She has over 20 years of experience in billing, customer relations, and legal acquisitions in both hospital and private practice settings. She is a certified Biller and Coder with extensive experience in ensuring accurate and timely claims and reimbursements.

When she is not at work, she enjoys traveling with her two children.

Nicole Carifi-Livingston, Insurance Coordinator

Nicole Carifi-Livingston has been in the healthcare industry since 2008 and has served in many roles. Her career began as a Credit Analyst at DaVita Dialysis in Tacoma, WA for several years. Next, she joined a Medical Group specializing in Cardiology as a Patient Service Representative. Finally, her experience brought her to Estes Audiology where she serves as the Insurance Coordinator. Nicole enjoys helping her patients get the most out of their insurance coverage and is here to answer any questions you might have about your insurance benefits.

Nicole is an Air Force spouse married for ten adventurous years. She has two fur babies, a Chihuahua named Pepe and a cat named Kitty. When she is not working, she enjoys yoga, reading, cooking, going on road trips, hiking trails and loves to Netflix and chill. Her goal is to retire with her husband and build their dream home here in Texas. Until then she plans to keep enjoying life while working at Estes Audiology.

Reta Reyes, Referral Coordinator

Reta Reyes joined Estes Audiology in March 2020 as Referral Coordinator for all Estes Audiology locations. She is originally from Amarillo and relocated to New Braunfels in 2005 with her family. She is a mother of four daughters and has two amazing granddaughters who she loves to pieces. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends and during the fall you will catch her watching the Dallas Cowboys games with her wonderful husband.
